Rail Cruising - Matariki Day Time Discovery
Come and join us for our first ever Matariki tours, starting from our new Ngongotaha Rail Cruising Station
Highlights
- Step aboard and captain your very own rail car! on a 27km return trip!
- Listen to an audio tour as you make your way through the beautiful Dansey Scenic Reserve specialised to Matariki
- Enjoy views of Lake Rotorua, stunning bush scenery and scenery extending as far as Mount Tarawera
- Travel from our new extension from Ngongotaha!
This tour will depart from Ngongotaha Rail Cruising Station and ascend up the track towards Mamaku,, stopping at Tarukenga, before continuing on to Mamaku Station 10km away. Arriving at Mamaku Station, guests will be greeted and invited inside our vintage log cabin to look at a display of information about Matariki. After a hot drink and biscuit (provided free), guests will return to their rail car and continue their trip back down to Ngongotaha Rail Cruising Station. .
