Must do walking tour in Auckland

This half day tour was a brilliant way to explore the city's volcanoes. Our tour guide, Mike, was extremely informative with regards to the geography and history of these sites, and their significance to Maori culture. The views from outside the craters were incredible, particularly at Mount Eden (the last stop). Mostly around South Auckland, it felt like we saw a lot within 5 hours. Highly recommend this tour!

Great way to spend a port day

What a great way to get out and about and see the real Auckland, and not just what the tour companies want you to see. The half day tour was a perfect way to spend a port day. Mike gave clear instructions on where to find him just a 5 minute walk from the ship and we were back in plenty of time to fit in some shopping before having to board again. Mike was a terrific guide - very knowledgeable about the area, and the geographcial history of the city and the volancoes we visited. On top of that he was genuinely interested in interacting with his passengers. It was so nice not simply listening to a scripted commentary from a bus driver. We got to see and walk along and inside five volcanoes, and get a real feel for the WOW factor of how this area has developed over thousands of years, and understand the unpredictability of what might happen at any time in the future. Definitely value for money and worth getting off the beaten track, away from bus trips... can highly recommend.

Insightful and Off-the-Beaten Path

Mike was a terrific guide and customized his tour to meet my interest and level of knowledge so it didn't feel like I was simply listening to scripted commentary. The cones are wonderful to seem from up close and understand the setting in which Auckland has grown into a city. I'm a fairly well informed, and independent solo traveler and I don't think I could have covered all this ground on my own. It was therefore time and money well spent!

Great tour

Really great tour with lots of information. Not as much walking as I expected though there was way more information than expected. Thanks Mike. I would recommend to anyone who would like a history lesson and not just on volcanos.
