Join Beachcomber Cruises - the only officially licensed New Zealand Post Rural Delivery Service by water in the Queen Charlotte Sound / Tōtaranui for a unique half-day cruise!

For over 150 years, residents along the Queen Charlotte Sounds waterways have been receiving their mail by boat and we are proud to uphold that service.

We invite you onboard to share the excitement as your skipper delivers the mail and experience the real Queen Charlotte Sounds, off the beaten tourist track. Each day is different as the mail route changes to cover different areas but all will be just as scenic!

Sit back and relax as the skipper provides you with interesting commentary while you take in the stunning scenery from the excellent viewing areas.

Available to purchase for $6 in the office before you depart are Beachcomber Cruises keep cups, we no longer use single use cups on board our vessels due the huge environmental impact. Upon purchase of a Beachcomber Cruises keep cup guests can enjoy tea and coffee onboard for the duration of the tour.

IMPORTANT - Please Note: Due to the nature of our trips we have a strict check-in policy. All participants must arrive and check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled trip time. Failure to do so may result in the forfeit of your ticket and will be strictly non-refundable or transferable.
Hot Deal Specials: The operator in very rare occasions, not withstanding all endeavours, may have to reschedule the time slightly if load requirements dictate and or refund on rare occasions.
Check-in time: 1:00pm
Departure time: 1:30pm
Arrive back in Picton: 5:30pm - 6:00pm

Parking: Car parking can be found at the bottom of Wellington Street and is $5.00 per day, please pay as you park by entering your number plate in the machine.
Beachcomber Cruises Terms and Conditions:
A refund of the total price less 10% will be given if booking is cancelled 48 hours in advance. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours, no refund due.
Beachcomber Cruises reserves the right to amend timetables, cancel departures, substitute plant and equipment and alter ticket prices without prior notification.

메일런 크루즈하려고 픽턴에 간거였는데 기대이상여서 너무 좋았어요! 운이 좋은날이여서 돌고래가 따라오는것도 보고 재미있었어요 :) 4시간정도의 코스를 했는데 강추입니다!!

Excellent and Informative Afternoon

Magnificent scenery and interesting commentary. Comfortable enough vessel with enough room to move around for photography. Bring your own meals/snacks. Tea and Coffee is complimentary.

Great experience 10/10

Everything about our trip on the mail run was awesome. It was a beautiful day and the sea was like glass. Our Skipper/Postie was very informative and great to chat too. The mail load was very light on our trip, so the Skipper took us on a Tiki Tour so that we still got the full experience. Loved seeing the dogs at each jetty waiting for their test from the skipper too.

Magic afternoon

Glorious sunny afternoon. Frolicking seals, dancing dolphins. Crystal clear bay waters with views of kahawai and blue cod. View of salmon farm. Our skipper Greg provided us with an informative commentary, very approachable and answered many questions. Would highly recommend this cruise. We were greeted in the office by the most happiest and cheerful receptionist in ages. Alan
